Responsibilities
- Manage multiple company-wide projects like Scalability/Load testing, Configuration management system, and Canary based safe release capability to ensure company-wide system’s reliability and less customer impact.
- Help promote reliability culture across Coinbase.
- Assist in scaling the system by 10-20x and help secure service configurations & secrets by building/enhancing world-class service configuration manager systems.
- Reduce customer incidents by building/enhancing Safe Release (canary based deployment systems) capability and onboarding thousands of services.
Requirements
- At least 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services.
- Ability to compose a service-oriented architecture.
- Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of customers.
- Strong technical skills for system design and coding.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong skills around observability, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Strong interpersonal skills working with Engineers from junior to principal levels.
- Demonstrated critical thinking under pressure.
- Willingness to dive into understanding, debugging, and improving any layer of the stack.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with working in rapid growth environments.
- Experience in Ruby, Go, and Terraform.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud environments.
- Experience designing and building reliable systems.
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment.
- Experience writing company-facing blog posts and training materials.
- Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services.
Benefits
- Target annual salary range: $180,625—$212,000 USD.
- Full time offers include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).
