The Team: Upstart’s Auto Lending Growth team is on a mission to scale Upstart’s Auto Lending platform by expanding into all 50 states, integrating seamlessly with dealer systems, and delivering a compliant, high-conversion credit application experience. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Auto Lending Growth team at Upstart, you will work closely with cross-functional partners to execute projects across the whole stack. You’re a self-starter who delivers work with quality, testability, resiliency, and maintainability in mind. You’ll move efficiently and deliberately to drive both existing and greenfield projects forward, while always keeping our end users in mind.

Requirements

  • 6+ years working with full stack web applications
  • 3+ years of experience working in a full stack capacity with NodeJS/Typescript and React or equivalent
  • Able to translate complex business requirements into system architecture and technical designs
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience leading engineers on medium to large projects through planning, design, implementation, and launch
  • Experience driving a culture of technical excellence related to quality, availability, and scalability

  • Experience deploying web applications on Vercel and/or with Next
