About The Position

We are looking for an AI Engineer to join RCM (Revenue Cycle Management) products - managing claims, billing and payment processes for healthcare practices. You will work with the team to develop and deploy AI solutions to automate and optimize RCM processes. This role focuses on developing innovative solutions which can integrate into enterprise applications, ensuring high reliability, security and scalability by following best practices. About you You love to own important work and find it difficult to turn down a good challenge. You are excited about the latest developments in AI and keep abreast of the latest tools and technologies. You have experience building AI solutions and productionizing it to solve real complex problem in revenue cycle management. You have strong communication skills and can work with colleagues from a variety of technical and non-technical backgrounds. Finally, you have a strong interest in improving healthcare. About the team The athenaCollector product is a vital component of the athenaOne platform, processing billions in client revenue annually. The AI team is using the latest AI tools, LLMs, and other technologies to bear against the hardest problem in revenue cycle management in healthcare. We are working with other engineering leaders in athenaCollector product to build AI solutions into our Best in KLAS suite of products to drive innovation and increase automation. Also, this team is responsible to deploy these solutions into productio using cloud technologies.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in an engineering role, with exposure to AI/ML concepts.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong software engineering experience, including AI model integration and GenAI API workflows.
• Knowledge of modern programming language: Python (preferred for AI applications)
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux, Big Data, SQL, NoSQL, and AI data pipelines.
• Experience with AI frameworks and APIs such as OpenAI GPT, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, LlamaIndex.
• Exposure to retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, and AI search optimization techniques.
• Understanding of vector databases (FAISS, Pinecone, ChromaDB) and similarity search models.
• Proficiency in cloud-based AI deployments (AWS or Azure OpenAI).
• Strong grasp of GenAI model evaluation techniques (BLEU, ROUGE, BERT Score, cosine similarity metrics).
