NextEra Energy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of our Palms Insurance Platform (PIP). The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and augmenting the existing PIP application, modifying or adding new features, refining the application based on business needs, collaborating with the data team to manage data changes, and aiding in the creation of operational reports and dashboards. This role is crucial in ensuring that our software solutions are robust, scalable, and meet the evolving needs of our business and customers. In this position, you will support, augment, and maintain the existing Palms Insurance Platform (PIP). You will develop and maintain high-quality applications using universal frameworks like NextJS and Sveltekit, as well as supersets like TypeScript, and other web technologies to modify or add features to the PIP app. Continuous collaboration with designers and stakeholders is essential to ensure that user experience and functionality meet business requirements for PIP. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining automated tests to ensure the reliability and scalability of PIP, documenting software programs with flowcharts, layouts, charts, diagrams, and other documentation, and participating in code reviews to identify and resolve technical issues while ensuring code quality. Additionally, you will contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement, keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in front-end development, and make recommendations for improvement.
