About The Position

As a Roblox Studio Platform Engineer, not only will you be one of the coolest humans on the planet; you will also be a key contributor to the evolution of Roblox Studio which is the primary IDE for making massive multiplayer online games on the Roblox platform. Studio provides tools for 3D modeling, animation, complete SDLC and testing for teams and individual game developers. Studio Platform provides the foundation for every team and third party developer that works on Studio by building out the core application experience, architecture, and UX fundamentals.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in desktop client automated testing
• Proven history building scalable frameworks and/or distributed systems
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Lua (or Luau) and Python. Proficiency in C++ is a plus.
• Driven cross organization quality initiatives through to adoption, while tracking incremental success along the way.
• Experience working within 3D creation workflows in tools such as Roblox Studio, Unreal Engine, Unity3D

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and maintainable test automation frameworks and various types of testing (functional, regression, performance, etc.).
• Mentor and guide junior automation engineers, providing technical leadership and support to foster professional growth and enhance team performance.
• Collaborate with Development, QA, Release Engineering, and Infra teams to integrate automated testing into the software development lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze test results, telemetry, and automation metrics to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement, leveraging data-driven insights for continuous enhancement.
• Drive the adoption of automation tools, technologies, and best practices to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participate in architectural and design discussions, providing input on testability and automation considerations.
• Perform root cause analysis for complex automation failures, working with development teams to ensure timely and effective resolution.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for automation frameworks, processes, and best practices.
