Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a remote Senior Software Developer to support the IRS Development, Infrastructure, Security and Modernization (DISM) program. This is a long-term, high-visibility federal contract role focused on maintaining and modernizing critical IRS tax processing and enterprise systems through secure application development, robust CI/CD pipelines, and integrated infrastructure. As a Senior Software Developer, you will ensure the Application Development (AD) production baseline is consistently maintained with accurate software configuration management across multiple releases, while driving end-to-end Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes in a federal Agile environment.

  • Ensure the AD production baseline is maintained with accurate software configuration management across multiple releases and lifecycle environments.
  • Develop and implement a fully integrated systems infrastructure with related management processes.
  • Actively support Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) initiatives, including continuous compilation, testing, and delivery of source code to test environments.
  • Perform configuration upgrades, delivery automation, and backlog grooming sessions.
  • Minimize program-critical risk exposure by delivering safe, secure, extensible, and scalable technical solutions.
  • Establish and document standard operating procedures for technical integration and program activities.
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of IRS tax processing systems (submission processing, corporate data, compliance/case processing, and modernized systems).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of related experience in software development with a strong focus on systems software
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to pass an IRS Public Trust investigation
  • Demonstrated experience developing Java solutions (Java EE/SE, JSP, JSF, Hibernate)
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and integrating web services using SOA principles and distributed systems architecture
  • Experience with Oracle 10g/11g, Oracle Real Application Clusters, and Drools rules engine
  • Expertise in CI/CD processes using Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD pipeline, automated testing, Docker, and OpenShift
  • Extensive experience in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Experience with cloud-based development/deployment and containerization technologies
  • Experience implementing cybersecurity policies, procedures, and FISMA-compliant best practices
