About The Position

Peraton is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Defense Mission and Health Solutions Sector, Durable Medical Equipment (DME) team. This individual will serve as a part of a team developing enhancements to the Medicare DME claims processing system. Our teams follow a SAFe agile/scrum development life cycle, responsible to create technical design deliverables, develop new programs, enhance existing programs, build unit test plans, cases, data and execute those tests. The Developer installs changes into internal testing regions and fixes discovered defects, following procedures and coding standards in a highly rigorous development environment. The developer also plans and executes work assignments in a way to ensure all assigned due dates are met and can identify and implement process improvements and updates to technical documentation. This role is based out of Windsor Mill, MD and can be worked fully remote, hybrid on onsite depending on selected candidate's location.

Requirements

  • 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA;
  • Requires 2 years of mainframe development experience.
  • Experienced with mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, TSO and VSAM.
  • Knowledge of health care claims processing.
  • Able to perform well in a highly rigorous development environment
  • Demonstrates experience as a software developer in a mainframe environment
  • Demonstrates ability to determine and decompose business requirements
  • Application lifecycle methodology experience specifically Agile/SCRUM
  • Strong communication skills and technical writing
  • Ability to develop application project solutions and estimating.
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DME, Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B, or Medicare Common Working File (CWF) specific processing systems
  • Experience working with CMS
  • Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps tools and frameworks through plan, define, build, test, release and deploy process
  • SAFe experience and/or certification
