Join OCI's Virtual Networking as a Senior Software Engineer in the Card Management team and help deliver a highly available, and secure fleet of critical SDN infrastructure; become an expert in embedded Linux and build new technologies for our distributed fleet of Linux systems. Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team is building new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at large scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best in class, foundational cloud infrastructure services. The Virtual Networking Team builds the highly customizable Virtual Cloud Networks (VCN) and connectivity services offering predictable and consistent performance, isolation, and availability. We are a team that builds the OCI Software Defined Network (SDN) stack. We are looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in maintaining a large fleet of embedded Linux systems.   • Help design and develop tooling and infrastructure to manage a growing fleet of embedded Linux systems.
  • Deliver a highly available and secure fleet of critical SDN infrastructure.
  • Onboard new generation network technologies, deployment tooling, patching, monitoring, automation, access controls, and metrics reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional hardware, OS, and platform teams to test and bring up new systems.
  • Improve efficiency across a fast-growing number of regions through automation.
  • Participate in on-call rotation which requires monitoring the fleet and associated services.
  • Develop runbooks, alarming, and build tools to improve operational capabilities.
  • BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
  • 4+ years of software engineering or related experience.
  • Become an expert in embedded Linux and gain deep hardware troubleshooting skills.
  • Fully competent in own area of expertise.
