Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• 5+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design experience
• Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Design the future of AWS security architecture
• This position isn't about maintaining existing systems, it's about architecting the next generation of protection mechanisms that will defend AWS and its customers for years to come
• You'll be working on existing and greenfield projects that will shape how we detect, mitigate, and prevent attacks at unprecedented scale and in real-time
• Members of the team work closely across research and DDoS response teams, to build the solutions to stop Layer 3/4 and Layer 7 attacks more effectively
