About The Position

The Senior Site Reliability Developer (IC3) at Oracle is responsible for the design and delivery of mission-critical services with a focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance. This role involves working closely with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team to ensure the operability and performance of production services, while also partnering with development teams to enhance service architecture and capabilities within the Oracle Cloud service portfolio.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE experience.
  • Experience with automated processes and cloud-native application design principles.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD DevOps model and best practices for deploying quality code in production.
  • Experience with public cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaaC), Configuration as Code (CaC), and GitOps tools such as Terraform, Argo CD, Flux.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python or Java.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and platform software such as OpenStack and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with public cloud managed Kubernetes services (OCI/OKE, AWS/EKS, GCP/GKE, Azure/AKS).
  • Experience with monitoring/alerting technologies such as Docker, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, EFK/ELK, Jaeger.
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Argo CD.
  • Knowledge of version control using Git.
  • Experience with application frameworks such as Spring, Helidon, Micronaut is a plus.
  • Experience developing or designing healthcare software is a plus.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development process is a plus.
  • Experience in Linux/Unix environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver mission-critical stack focusing on security, resiliency, scale, and performance.
  • Act as authority for end-to-end performance and operability of services.
  • Partner with development teams to define and implement improvements in service architecture.
  • Articulate technical characteristics of services and guide development teams in enhancing capabilities.
  • Understand and communicate scale, capacity, security, and performance attributes of services.
  • Demonstrate understanding of automation and orchestration principles.
  • Serve as the ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues.
  • Utilize understanding of service topology and dependencies to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations.
  • Explain the impact of product architecture decisions on distributed systems.
