Test and Measurement Systems (also known as NI) Product R&D has an immediate opening for a Senior Signal Integrity Hardware Engineer within our talented hardware design team in Austin, TX. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work throughout the product lifecycle to develop products and systems that expand the Test and Measurement industry's capabilities. Signal Integrity engineers within our Test and Measurement Systems business group stand at the intersection of the many disciplines required to make new products come to life, making this role critical to the team's success. Through your work you will have opportunities to continue to expand your design skills by learning from experienced technical leaders and participating in initiatives to grow this expertise in the organization In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be Collaborate with multi-disciplinary hardware engineering teams to develop Test and Measurement products Own all aspects of digital board-level design, including schematic entry, layout guidelines, signal integrity simulations, and prototype validation Develop and execute plans for prototype hardware bring-up and board-level validation Be the voice of digital design in project meetings by estimating the level of effort for design tasks, providing input on the status of work, and proactively raising technical concerns. You persist in accomplishing objectives despite obstacles and setbacks. For This Role, You Will Need Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, or related discipline. Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience in hardware design. Familiarity with high-speed design fundamentals, such as signal integrity, crosstalk, impedance control, EMI, and PCB stack-up. Experience designing and validating high-speed interfaces (DDR, PCIe, JESD204, Ethernet). Proficient in using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, TDRs, VNAs, logic analyzers, etc. Hands-on experience with EDA tools for schematic capture and PCB layout Experience writing and executing test plans to verify board-level digital circuits and bringing up prototype hardware. Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical ideas to diverse stakeholders. Located within a commutable distance to NI’s offices in Austin, TX, or willing to relocate. Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
