About The Position

The Senior Segment Specialist is the strategic business leader and subject matter expert for their assigned product segment. Acting as both champion and educator, this role is responsible for growing market share, shaping go-to-market strategies, and serving as the primary authority on segment performance, customer needs, and competitive positioning. You will lead the full product lifecycle—from engineering disclosure to end-of-life—while driving alignment across Marketing, Sales, Product, and Channel partners. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring deep technical understanding of wide-format inkjet printing technology and the ability to translate complex product information into compelling messaging, training materials, and sales tools.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in product marketing, segment management, or technical sales enablement—ideally within wide-format printing, industrial equipment, or related technology sectors.
  • Strong technical understanding of printing hardware, inks, substrates, and workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to create clear, compelling product messaging and training deliverables.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills across both technical and commercial audiences.
  • Ability to operate autonomously while aligning cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing full product lifecycle ownership.
  • Familiarity with CRM, CMS, and analytics platforms.
  • Ability to analyze data and turn performance insights into actionable strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Own profit and loss responsibilities for assigned business segments.
  • Set up new products in company systems, including pricing, BOMs, and purchasing plans.
  • Lead product launches and ensure consistent positioning across all communication channels.
  • Advocate for segment needs in product roadmaps and development cycles.
  • Provide the Marketing team with clear, actionable messaging and strategic direction.
  • Develop targeted value propositions, USPs, and go-to-market strategies for each segment.
  • Review all outbound marketing assets for accuracy and alignment with segment strategy (sales guides, product sheets, presentations, web pages, advertising, etc.).
  • Create segment-specific content including case studies, white papers, competitive battlecards, demos, and training materials.
  • Deliver product sales training and market updates to internal teams and dealers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for segment-related pricing, compatibility, and market inquiries.
  • Equip sales teams with tools and insights to handle objections and win competitive deals.
  • Define customer personas and segment demographics, behaviors, and pain points.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and maintain a directory of competing products.
  • Monitor key trends via reports, surveys, interviews, analytics, and social listening.
  • Track segment performance metrics, adoption trends, and customer satisfaction.
  • Direct segment messaging, presentations, and demonstrations at tradeshows and events.
  • Coordinate sample production and support activities that drive dealer and end-user engagement.
