The Oracle Cloud Security Assurance team is seeking a dynamic Security Software Engineer to drive security enhancements throughout Oracle. Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand standards and produce actionable attestations
  • Experience operating/managing large, distributed, continuously deployed services
  • Traditional/Cloud Networking concepts
  • Understand configuration and posture management concepts
  • Technology troubleshooting skills (HTTP/API/log review)
  • Experience bridging secure engineering requirements the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Experience scaling operational activities via Python, Bash, and other tools
  • Experience building automated security solutions
  • Performing research within large data sets
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and implement security solutions for new and challenging problems
  • Design and test reusable data schemas
  • Design and develop impactful dashboards for a mix of end users
  • Consult software development teams to drive highly effective detection methods
  • Drive and champion security tool development (e.g. scanning tools)
  • Champion and consult on secure development lifecycle practices
  • Design and build verification mechanisms
  • Define security configuration and implementation best practices

  • Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
