Within Microsoft Security, the Sovereign Cloud Security team secures Microsoft's clouds for governments around the world by providing best-in-class security solutions through foundational services. We are seeking a talented Senior Security Data Scientist to join our team in support of our US Government Clouds. This role will directly support our data science needs in our existing US Government Secret and Top-Secret Clouds. The ideal candidate will have a data science background with experience in data engineering, analytics, and data visualization.   • Develop and Optimize KQL Queries: Create and refine Kusto Query Language (KQL) queries to extract and analyze data from various sources.
  • Deploy Data Pipelines: Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow and integration across our cloud infrastructure.
  • Build Visualizations in Grafana: Develop insightful and interactive visualizations using Grafana to monitor and present key metrics and performance indicators.
  • Analyze and Debug KPIs: Investigate and resolve data issues, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Ensure Data Security and Compliance: Adhere to data governance and security protocols to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
  • OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
  • The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.
