About The Position

The technology teams at Prime Video are dedicated to creating best-in-class digital video experiences. As a technologist, you will have end-to-end ownership of product, user experience, design, and technology, working on fast-paced, challenging, and varied projects. The role involves experimenting with new possibilities, taking risks, and collaborating with a diverse team. We are seeking a self-motivated, passionate, and resourceful Senior Software Development Engineer to contribute diverse perspectives and skill-sets to enhance Prime Video for customers. This individual will serve as a technical leader, designing and building the ML infrastructure that powers the vision, tackling complex and ambiguous problems, and delivering scalable and resilient ML platform solutions from the ground up. Responsibilities include writing high-quality, maintainable code, mentoring other engineers, influencing technical strategy, and driving engineering best practices. The work will directly contribute to operational efficiency and establish a technical foundation for future growth.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Have deep subject matter expertise in the area of recommendation systems and ML infra
• Work with teams of scientists, product managers and engineers to translate business and functional requirements into concrete system deliverables
• Build new platform services from the ground up
• Drive the development of innovative approaches to personalization
• Provide opportunities for scientists and engineers to invent and implement scalable ML solutions supporting new customer experiences
• Design and build the ML infrastructure that power our vision
• Tackle complex and ambiguous problems, designing and delivering scalable and resilient ML platform solutions from the ground up
• Write high-quality, maintainable code
• Mentor other engineers
• Influence our technical strategy
• Drive engineering best practices across the team
