Senior SDE, AWS OpenSearch Security Analytics and Observability

As a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) in the AWS OpenSearch Security Analytics and Observability team, you will be at the forefront of building a next-generation cloud-scale analytics and observability platform. This role is pivotal in revolutionizing how users manage and derive insights from vast volumes of data in the cloud. You will have the opportunity to make a direct and immediate impact on a large number of AWS users while working in a fast-paced, startup-style environment. The Amazon OpenSearch Observability service simplifies the deployment, operation, and scaling of OpenSearch for various use cases, including log analytics, application monitoring, and security operations, all enhanced by advanced machine learning algorithms. In this position, you will design, develop, and support a world-class observability platform on the OpenSearch platform, catering to individuals and businesses of all sizes. Your responsibilities will include producing robust, efficient, and maintainable code primarily in Java, Python, and C/C++. You will work with OpenSearch and Apache Lucene open-source software to build large-scale ingestion pipelines, develop numerous plugins, and implement AI-driven advanced correlations, anomaly detection, and alerting mechanisms. This role also involves tackling challenging problems in data storage, query optimization, JVM performance optimization, and security, while continually exploring ways to meet evolving customer needs. You will participate in setting a vision and objectives for observability in alignment with customer needs and market opportunities, driving algorithm and architecture design, and executing to deliver results.
