The Whitlock lab in the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking a senior scientist to join our team. In the Whitlock Lab studies bone/skeletal metabolism and the formation and function of multinucleated osteoclasts. The senior scientist will work closely with the PI and other lab members to complete various mouse model, cell biological and biochemical experiments in support of our ongoing, long-term research projects aimed at resolving how osteoclasts form and how their dysfunction leads to the development of pediatric and geriatric skeletal diseases. The candidate will be expected to independently manage our mouse colonies, perform and execute successful in vivo experiments, and to perform routine lab maintenance and organization. This position is ideal for individuals who have recently completed their PhD or who have previous experience managing a research laboratory.
