About The Position

As Senior Scientist, you will support the development of Anduril’s proprietary metal-powder fuel formulation through chemical and materials research and development. The right person for this role has hands-on skills in chemical and materials research and development and also in project management. If you are someone who is detail oriented and passionate about turning laboratory development into next-generation, real-world capabilities this role is for you.

Requirements

Master’s degree in chemical, materials science, or metallurgical engineering, chemistry, or related fields.
Experience with air-sensitive chemistries, materials and techniques.
Fundamental knowledge of material and chemical sciences.
Experience in team-oriented project execution.
Eligible to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

Ph. D degree in chemical, materials science, or metallurgical engineering, chemistry, or related fields.
A preference for inorganic chemistry, metallurgical engineering, or material science.
Experience with reactive metals
Experience with surface chemistry.
Experience with team project leadership & management. Well-developed soft skills for technical project collaboration.
Experience with materials characterization techniques and interpretation (ICP, gravimetric analysis, microscopy, DSC, spectrometry, etc.).
Experience with propellant or energetic materials.

Responsibilities

Conduct experimental research under the guidance of a senior principal scientist.
Collaborate with a multi-specialized team.
Analyze data & plan experiments & make brief technical presentations.
Support multi-threaded project management.
