Senior Scientist (Organic Chemistry)
About The Position
On Demand Pharmaceuticals (ODP) is changing the way medicines are made and distributed, aiming to provide them anywhere, any time. ODP is developing innovative manufacturing platforms to produce critical medicines at the point of care and secure the pharmaceutical supply chain. The company is seeking a contract Senior Scientist with strong hands-on experience in organic synthesis for a short-term, execution-focused project. This role is designed for a highly capable bench chemist who can quickly integrate into the lab, operate independently, and complete synthetic work within a defined timeline. Immediate availability is strongly preferred.
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field
- 5+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in organic synthesis (industry experience preferred)
- Proven ability to independently execute complex synthetic routes with minimal oversight
- Strong working knowledge of purification and analytical techniques
- Ability to quickly ramp up and contribute in a fast-paced, short-term engagement
Nice To Haves
- Experience with process development or scale-up
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated environments
- Familiarity with technology transfer or manufacturing documentation
Responsibilities
- Execute multi-step organic synthesis in support of project deliverables
- Troubleshoot and optimize reaction conditions to improve yield and reproducibility
- Purify and characterize compounds using standard techniques (e.g., chromatography, NMR, LC/MS)
- Accurately document experimental procedures, observations, and results
- Collaborate with internal team members to align on priorities, timelines, and data interpretation
