About The Position

The Assay Design and Development team is looking for a Sr. Scientist, Technical Lead to drive scientific programs and integrate cross-functional scientific teams in the design and development of innovative molecular diagnostic assays. This is a high-visibility, fast-paced position. The ability to communicate, drive technical and business decisions, and influence diverse groups across all levels of the organization is a must. In addition to technical and business acumen, an ideal candidate will possess substantial situational agility and emotional intelligence. What will you do? Perform and manage development work to move an assay from concept to launch following the new product development process. Understand customer needs and draft product requirements. Perform specification setting, verification and validation, data analysis, experiment design, and structured problem solving. Coordinate priorities with a wide variety of internal partners by encouraging teamwork and group achievement. Collaborate closely with core team leads and project managers as well as functional scientific leaders and their laboratory staff. Partner with medical affairs, marketing, operations, quality, regulatory, legal, business development and others. Present ideas and data to other parts of the organization for feedback and to communicate project progress. What do you need to succeed? PhD in chemical, engineering, or biological field required. Experience with developing and optimizing PCR based molecular diagnostic assays in a GMP/GLP environment. Experience with DNA/RNA extraction from complex clinical sample types, including blood, serum, urine and feces. Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills. Experience with JMP statistical software is beneficial. Possess the ability to apply a broad range of tools to critically evaluate, interpret and summarize data. Show excellent project planning and leadership skills to manage large, complex projects. Demonstrate an ability to gather and manage necessary resources and influence without authority. Utilize strong technical decision-making and risk assessment skills. Display significant independent action on technical matters. Ability to develop good organizational knowledge to manage complex projects. Strong planning and organizational skills as well as decision making. Illustrated customer focus and concern for quality. Exceptional verbal, technical writing and interpersonal communication skills. Good presentation skills. Excellent laboratory skills and technique with an ability to maintain accurate and clear documentation. Goal-oriented and highly motivated individual. Proficient with MS Office. Requirements
