In this vital role you will join an enthusiastic, fast-paced team utilizing cutting-edge omics and cellular profiling technologies to advance target discovery, validation, and progression across Amgen’s therapeutic areas. Conduct impactful high throughput screening and profiling approaches for target discovery Help identify and implement new technologies to accelerate discovery Develop and execute downstream mechanistic assays to validate and advance targets Collaborate closely with disease area, human genetics, computational biology, and therapeutic development teams to make actionable decisions as a technical and intellectual subject matter expert Present research findings to cross-functional groups at internal and external meetings and publish scientific findings in peer-reviewed forums What we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree PhD, PharmD, MD and relevant post-doc experience Or Master’s degree and 3 years of target discovery and biology experience Or Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of target discovery and biology experience Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate degree in epigenetics, genetics, chromatin biology, genomics, cell and molecular biology, developmental biology, systems biology, or related disciplines Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking, complex problem solving, and innovative research, evidenced by significant contributions to discovery programs and publications in top tier journals Hands-on expertise conducting and delivering complex screening campaigns for discovery Proficiency with experimental design, data generation, and analysis principles across a broad range of technologies and assays including transcriptomics Experience with chromatin-focused methods such as ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, Hi-C, CUT&RUN, CUT&Tag, or related approaches to study chromatin accessibility, genome architecture, and epigenetic regulation Strong expertise on prosecuting insights from human genetics along with approaches for in-depth biological study of potential targets Experience with programming (e.g. in R/Python), Unix/Linux environments, and cloud computing environments for the analysis of large omics datasets is preferred Strong written, verbal, and oral communication skills and ability to thrive in cross-functional settings What you can expect from us As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for your professional and personal growth and well-being. The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
