About The Position

The Senior Scientist, Systems Biology at Takeda will be part of a computational team focused on utilizing in silico and systems biology approaches to support drug discovery and development projects. This role involves analyzing multi-omic and multi-modal data to identify novel drug targets and biomarkers, particularly in the areas of Gastroenterology and Inflammation. The position requires collaboration with various teams to evaluate the efficacy of potential target candidates and drive innovative therapies for chronic inflammatory diseases.

Requirements

  • PhD in Systems Biology, Bioinformatics, or Computational Biology with 2+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 8+ years, or BS with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of molecular biology and genomics.
  • Demonstrated experience in large scale multi-omics and multi-modal data integration.
  • Strong machine learning experience is preferred.
  • Experience with high performance computing and cloud computing.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous industry experience is preferred.
  • Background in graph-neural networks and multimodal fusion.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in projects requiring multi-omic and multi-modal analyses from preclinical and clinical studies.
  • Develop AI/ML models, knowledge graphs, and NLP pipelines; incorporate computational strategies with graph-neural networks and deep learning.
  • Present scientific reports in internal meetings and to external audiences.
  • Proactively identify complex obstacles and recommend solutions using diverse resources.
  • Collaborate with data and quantitative scientists to enhance computational infrastructure.
