About The Position

The Senior Scientist - Microbiologist will play a crucial role in the Microbiology Center of Excellence (COE) at the company's headquarters in Rahway, NJ. This position is responsible for supporting the company's diverse portfolio, which includes small molecules, biologics, and vaccines. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, routine testing, validations, and the implementation of alternative microbial methods to support the rapidly growing pipeline.

Requirements

• BS degree in microbiology, biology, biological sciences or related field with 7+ years work experience.
• MS degree in microbiology, biology, biological sciences or related field with 4+ years work experience.
• PhD degree in microbiology, biology, biological sciences or related field with 0+ years work experience.
• Extensive knowledge of basic microbiology and aseptic practices in a GMP environment.
• Experience in manufacturing and product testing.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent organizational skills to multi-task.
• Desire and willingness to learn, contribute, and lead.
• Track record of independent problem-solving.
• Ability to think logically and be proactive under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Support the full company's portfolio including small molecules, biologics, and vaccines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders for various projects.
• Conduct routine testing and validations.
• Implement alternate microbial methods.
• Contribute to experimental design, execution, and data interpretation for projects.
• Train team members for GMP testing.
• Author SOPs, protocols, and reports including method transfers.
• Interact with internal and external partners to foster collaborations.
• Lead and support quality investigations and change management.
