About The Position

We are looking for a Scientist II to join our team in Holmdel. The position involves planning and executing complex technical work for go to market, proactive and analytical projects under the direction of technical leaders. The candidate will provide key technical support to project teams and has the ability to lead small scope projects internally or externally. The role requires a legacy of technical creativity, allowing the individual to develop technical insight and recommendations that support project decision-making, category strategy, and customer propositions to highlight IFF product advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute complex technical work for go to market, proactive and analytical projects under the direction of technical leaders.
• Provide key technical support to project teams and lead small scope projects internally or externally.
• Develop new innovations in Home care and Air Care categories.
• Collaborate with R&D and other departments to understand performance technology and introduce new products to the global creative teams.
• Design & conduct complex technical work in the area of air care and home care applications (cleaners, wipes, disinfectants, cat litter, etc.).
• Define critical partnerships with external suppliers to support key programs and initiatives.
• Drive IP Strategy for focused initiatives to maximize IFF competitive position.
• Consult management to obtain appropriate resources or expertise.
• Work in partnership with other multidisciplinary departments such as R&D, Sales, Perfumery, & Marketing/CI.
• Visit customers with other team members to listen to issues & give input on possible solutions.
• Execute the relevant parts of the project within the given timelines.
• Be aware of new trends in base formulation due to innovation, regulatory or convenience and anticipate their impact & suggest studies to understand or alternative solutions.
• Optimize team performance through excellent leadership, stretching goal setting, coaching and development.
• Identify and develop talent to elevate the technical and innovation knowledge as well as leadership competencies of the team.
• Suggest & implement ways to improve current processes or methodologies to reduce time, cost or increase performance.
• Provide Senior management with clear updates on various initiatives.
• Liaise with various internal cross-functional and cross-divisional colleagues and external collaborators.
• Foster a collaborative mindset and build a relationship of trust with other fragrance functions (Perfumers, Marketing, Consumer Insights) to enrich and accelerate the creative process.
• Demonstrate good written and communication skills.
