POSITION SUMMARY As a member of our ADC Discovery team, you will perform spatial biology experiments to validate targets for antibody-based therapeutics, as well as explore their effects on the tumor microenvironment. You will serve as a histopathology/immunohistochemistry subject matter expert, representing the In Situ Biology sub-team and communicating findings to interdisciplinary project teams.

Requirements

  • Recent PhD in a biological science related discipline OR MS in a biological science related discipline with 7 years of experience with histopathology techniques OR BS in a biological science related discipline with 9 years of experience with histopathology techniques.
  • IHC and ISH assay development expertise.
  • Experience with advanced histology methodologies, including multiplex immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization
  • An understanding of tumor biology.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a cross-functional research environment.
  • Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Proficiency using laboratory notebooks and whole slide imaging using digital scanners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Excel and PowerPoint, and analysis software like GraphPad Prism or Spotfire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with digital image analysis tools such as HALO and/or Visiopharm.
  • Experience with core histology methodologies, such as processing, embedding, and sectioning.
  • Experience and interest in mentoring and leading colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Independently design, execute, and interpret experiments aimed at understanding the spatial context of target expression in tumor and normal tissues.
  • Work with project teams, management, pathologists, and peers within the Oncology Research Unit to ensure studies are aligned with project goals and best experimental practices.
  • Communicate with project teams to ensure executed studies satisfy intended goals and results are interpreted appropriately.
  • Present findings to project teams, leadership, and interdepartmental meetings.
  • Represent the In Situ Biology sub-team on project teams as a histopathology/immunohistochemistry subject matter expert and contribute to scientific discussions.
  • Evaluate, propose, and implement new procedures in step with advancing industry and academic standards.
  • Create reports, contribute to internal and external presentations and journal articles, and diligently record experiments in laboratory notebooks.
