About The Position

Working as part of a cross-functional team you lead the R&D activities required to complete new product development and maintain portfolios and/or productivity projects keeping in mind the goal to deliver the desired consumer experience. How you will contribute You will work independently to plan, lead and coordinate technical projects in line with R&D, marketing and manufacturing requirements. You will plan, lead and coordinate development activities at the Lab/benchtop level to better understand the Gum Base and Encapsulation product technology (e.g. Formulation development (focusing on Structural, Chemical and Physical aspects of the materials used) and modification, product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation. etc.). You will effectively communicate status and risks and plan, lead and coordinate pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. To provide direction for product development both locally and globally, you will use digital simulation models to obtain, understand and interpret consumer insights and commercial information. In this role, you will create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications and be responsible for stakeholder management and influencing decisions based on conclusions made from analysis and interpretation of results. What you need to know about this position: The candidate will be responsible for delivering a variety of projects within the Global Gum Base and Encapsulation portfolio - such as maintaining and optimizing products, supporting capacity expansion efforts, and delivering against quality and margin management goals. The candidate must be versatile, able to work in cross-functional teams, and be capable of working proactively across multiple projects. The candidate should be able to leverage experts/partners to ensure compliance to documentation, shelf life, regulatory requirements, FTO/IP, and confidentiality requirements. BS / MS in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5-8 years experience, preferably in the Chemical, Polymer or food industry.
Strong technical foundation and a high level of technical curiosity.
Ability to develop and drive technical project with proper scientific rigor: conduct appropriate testing, gather and analyze data, and develop recommendations based on findings.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and manage complexity- from bench top to execution.
Participate in cross functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization
