Requirements

  • Employer will accept a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Scientist, Cryo-Electron Microscope (Cryo-EM)- related occupation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an integral member of cross-functional discovery project teams, collaborating closely with computational and medicinal chemists and biologists to drive structure-based drug design for both small and large molecule optimization.
  • Lead end-to-end structure determination of challenging targets using single-particle Cryo-EM, including sample optimization, grid preparation, data collection, processing, and structural analysis.
  • Partner with protein scientists, biophysicists, and experts in protein NMR and X-ray crystallography to implement an integrated structural biology strategy.
  • Design and implement innovative approaches for the expression, purification, and characterization of membrane proteins for Cryo-EM based structure determination.
  • Clearly communicate structural findings and insights to project teams, contributing to data-driven decision-making for structure-based drug design in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the scientific leadership of the group by mentoring junior scientists, participating in strategic planning, and implementing impactful new technologies and techniques.
  • Stay at the forefront of the field by publishing high-impact research papers, attending and presenting at scientific conferences, and establishing academic collaborations with key opinion leaders.
