About The Position

The position involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team at Takeda, focusing on computational chemistry to advance drug discovery projects. The role requires the application of innovative computational methodologies and tools to support drug discovery efforts across various modalities, including small molecules and RNA inhibitors. The successful candidate will contribute to multiple projects, providing technical expertise and driving decision-making in drug discovery.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in Chemistry or equivalent.
  • Expected 2+ years of experience in the industry.
  • Experience with a variety of computational tools and methodologies including large-scale virtual screening and machine learning.
  • Comprehensive experience in data mining and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with organic and synthetic chemistry concepts.
  • Proficiency in scientific scripting and programming languages including Python.
  • Experience with operations in Linux and/or cloud environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with standard computational chemistry software including Schrodinger Suites and KNIME.
  • Experience developing and deploying design and/or AI platforms to impact drug discovery.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an understanding of computational chemistry principles within a multidisciplinary drug discovery environment.
  • Independently design, develop, and execute research assignments, contributing to multiple projects.
  • Identify, develop, validate, and implement innovative computational approaches that enhance research productivity and success.
  • Provide key technical knowledge and input to project teams to drive decision-making in drug discovery projects.
  • Conduct scientific presentations to internal audiences and collaborate with cross-functional scientists.
