About The Position

Monte Rosa Therapeutics seeks an experienced and highly motivated scientist to join our Biomarker and Translation team in Boston. Using a rational approach to targeted protein degradation, Monte Rosa is developing pioneering therapies across Immunology & Inflammation, Oncology, and other disease areas. The scientist in this role will be responsible for designing and executing robust translational experiments in clinically relevant models to support indication selection and patient stratification. He/she will work collaboratively with project and clinical teams to interpret emerging clinical data and inform the discovery and translation of next-generation therapeutics. Key responsibilities include contributing to clinical development strategies, integrating translational research into clinical plans, and identifying and developing clinically relevant biomarkers to support decision-making across programs.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in biological sciences with 5+ years hands-on experience in drug discovery research in an industry setting
  • Proven experience supporting translational efforts through advancement of programs into clinical trials
  • Prior experience in independently developing, validating, and executing biomarker assays for preclinical, translational and clinical samples
  • Extensive expertise in cutting-edge laboratory techniques, with hands-on experience in cellular models, animal studies, and human tissues
  • Prior experience coordinating with CROs and academic labs
  • Strong documentation skills, including consistent use of electronic lab notebooks and standard laboratory software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in matrixed teams and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced biotech environment
  • Ability to clearly communicate data and strategy to internal and external partners

Nice To Haves

  • Image analysis skills (high-content imaging, histology) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally (e.g., target biology, biomarkers, data science, nonclinical and clinical development) to ensure successful selection, implementation and execution of translational research and clinically relevant assays and plans
  • Support the preclinical identification of relevant model systems and the review of their usefulness for clinical development
  • Develop, validate, and implement molecular and cellular-based assays to support translational research and clinical trials
  • Independently identify relevant models, design and execute experiments. Interpret translational data, generate reports, and present findings
  • Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality data to support key decisions
  • Identify and develop novel assays/platforms to support translational innovation
  • Oversight and manage the outsourcing of assays at Contract Research Organizations (CROs)
  • Develop study plans, reports, and provide required documents for IND preparation
  • Maintain laboratory instruments, reagents, consumables, and other routine laboratory tasks
