About The Position

The Protein, Bioanalysis, and Material Sciences (PMBS) group is part of the Precision Medicine, Bioanalytical and Translational Sciences (PMBATS) team. PMBATS leads internal and external bioanalytical and diagnostic research & development activities to support multiple disease areas of interest including hematological malignancies, inflammatory disease programs, neuroscience, cardiovascular, and solid tumor indications. The PMBATS group integrates scientific insights of multiple functions to provide innovative solutions that will make precision medicine a reality for the patients and health care providers we serve. The primary purpose of this position is to independently develop, validate, and implement bioanalytical immunoassays for the measurement of biotherapeutics, as well as the detection of anti-drug antibodies (i.e., immunogenicity) in biological samples, to support drug development and regulatory filings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of related industry experience
  • Master’s Degree with 5+ years of related industry experience
  • Ph.D. in related field with 2+ years of industry experience
  • Experience in the development and validation of bioanalytical pharmacokinetic/toxicokinetic and anti-drug antibody immunoassays.
  • Knowledge of GLP, 21 CFR Part 11, FDA Bioanalytical Guidance.
  • Some experience in LIMS (e.g. Watson) for quantitation, data handling and archival.
  • Knowledge of the drug discovery and development process.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to independently interpret and deliver results.
  • Ability to effectively work across levels and function with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Works independently with limited supervision to develop and validate immunoassays for the analysis of clinical and non-clinical pharmacokinetic/toxicokinetic (PK/TK) and anti-drug antibody samples in a GLP-like or GLP environment.
  • Contributes to validation and other analytical reports.
  • Performs and documents method qualification and validation activities to support bioanalytical immunoassays.
  • Ensures compliant documentation and supports inspection readiness.
  • Interprets results, plans next steps, compiles final data summaries, and presents results to stakeholders.
  • May lead projects and provide oversight of experimental design and data review for junior staff members.
  • May lead scientific collaborations and/or contracted research as needed.
  • May serve as a technical point of contact within the group.
  • Troubleshoots assay problems and instrument malfunctions.
  • Maintains required training in accordance with BMS standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains and completes notebooks and other documentation as per departmental guidelines.
  • Achieves objectives in a manner consistent with BMS Behaviors.
  • May lead or contribute to the writing and presentation of findings in the form of posters, publications, and oral presentations (internal and external).
