About The Position

The Senior Scientific Director, Team Lead will oversee the development and execution of scientific content across multiple therapeutic areas, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based medical education programs. This leadership role involves guiding account teams, shaping brand strategies, and driving scientific excellence in promotional medical education initiatives. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, translating complex scientific data into clear, actionable recommendations. The position offers the opportunity to lead cross-functional teams, contribute to business development, and foster innovation in medical communications while working in a flexible, collaborative environment. This role is ideal for a scientifically trained professional who is strategic, hands-on, and passionate about advancing medical knowledge through impactful educational programs.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent) required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in promotional medical education content development (advisory boards, speaker programs, slide decks, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret scientific data, multitask, and manage projects independently under tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of established professional medical editorial processes (e.g., AMA style) and ethical guidelines.
  • Experience in Oncology is required; GI/GU experience is preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, guide client interactions, and contribute strategically to account growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned accounts, managing all aspects of scientific content development for promotional medical education programs.
  • Oversee client interactions, providing strategic guidance on brand planning and medical education initiatives.
  • Partner with client services to develop scopes of work, timelines, and resource allocation plans.
  • Ensure scientific accuracy, adherence to ethical guidelines, and alignment with editorial standards across all deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities for new or expanded programs and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering professional growth and maintaining high standards for scientific rigor.
