About The Position

Nexus-Woodbourne is seeking a Senior School Therapist that will provide Trauma Informed therapeutic services to youth, ages 12-18, including individual and group therapy, to address various behavioral and mental health issues. The therapist will collaborate with educators, parents, and other mental health professionals to create a supportive environment conducive to student success. Position Summary: To provide and document therapeutic services to students according to the goals and objectives identified in each student's Individualized Education Plan. Review and sign-off on documentation of therapeutic services provided. The Senior School Therapist is required to work ON-SITE. This is NOT a HYBRID or REMOTE role.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology or clinically related field.
  • A certified license to provide unsupervised therapy or counseling as required per State requirements.
  • Maryland-LCSW-C or LCPC or equivalent state designation for a master's level clinically related field are required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic services according to the goals and objectives identified in each student's Individualized Education Plan.
  • Render individual, group, and other services as identified based on the minimum weekly amount required by the IEP.
  • Plan and conduct group sessions with students to meet IEP goals.
  • Review and sign-off on documentation of school therapeutic services to ensure quality of services provided.
  • Assist the Special Education Coordinator with evaluation of services provided.
  • Provide feedback to School Therapists regarding documentation of services.
  • Assist in the development of the therapeutic program based on student trends and outcomes information.
  • Develop strategies to engage students.
  • Assist in the evaluation of innovative trends and develop appropriate uses within Nexus.
  • Educate School staff and treatment team members in the understanding of the student's educational needs.
  • Regularly assess the student's educational progress with the student, the student's family and LEA, and the clinical treatment team.
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings and case conferences as needed.
  • Be available on-call for consultation/treatment direction and/or decisions when appropriate.
  • Communicate with legal systems, schools and social service agencies and provide court testimony when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with governing agency and Nexus reporting requirements.
  • Complete and compile documentation required by Nexus and governing agencies.
  • Maintain the educational record according to agency policy.
  • Produce informal and formal reports for parents, social workers, courts, etc.
  • Review documentation from group living and classroom.
  • Participate in follow-up data.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports for programs and services as required.
  • Maintain accurate database and files of former and current students in special education in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Follow procedures for safe storing and integrity of all confidential student records, ensuring that student record keeping procedures comply with state and federal law.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required by assigned Agency.
  • Attend relevant conferences for continued education.
  • Understand and support the Nexus philosophy and treatment modalities.
  • Ensure confidentiality regarding students in compliance with all licensing and accreditation agencies, company policy, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assist with other job-related duties, as assigned.
