About The Position

The position involves developing schedules for large or multiple smaller construction projects with complex scheduling activities. The role requires revising and reviewing project schedules with the project team and monitoring and tracking progress against defined schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience with large construction projects (>$50m).
  • Experience in construction positions such as Field Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.
  • Proficient use of scheduling software applications (e.g., Oracle Primavera P6).
  • Knowledge of scheduling comparison tools (e.g., Acumen Fuse, Change Inspector).
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Knowledge of estimating to support project schedule development.
  • Familiar with earned value concepts and using construction resources.
  • Ability to manage competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient computer and data entry skills, including Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Develop thorough understanding of work breakdown structure for large or multiple smaller construction projects.
  • Reference ‘Scheduling Playbook’ to adhere to company and scheduling policies.
  • Develop relationships with project stakeholders for communication of overall project plan.
  • Collaborate with project team to confirm Contract Item List and develop Required On Job dates.
  • Review Procurement Schedule to track and assess subcontractor commitments.
  • Develop project schedule based on Critical Path Method using scheduling software.
  • Review and recommend decisions related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, and staffing levels.
  • Study schedule deliverables prior to publication or distribution.
  • Collaborate with project departments to prepare detailed schedules.
  • Engage with Virtual Design & Construction team to align schedules and models.
  • Define project schedule metrics and monitor critical path activities.
  • Contribute information to update project schedule dashboard.
  • Create target comparison models and look-ahead schedules.
  • Challenge project team based on schedule data for As Built vs. Planned progress.
  • Review Pull Plan and revise schedule accordingly.
  • Collaborate with project team to identify events impacting project schedule.
  • Conduct project site progress walks to capture scheduling progress data.
  • Generate scheduling reports and summaries based on client requests.
  • Provide support and guidance to project end-users in using scheduling software.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Marketing teams for proposal scheduling activities.
  • Develop and update cost and/or resource loaded schedules as requested.
  • Apply continuous improvement methodology to improve scheduling operations.
