About The Position

Central Arizona Project (CAP) is a 336-mile system that supplies Colorado River water to central and southern Arizona. More than 6 million people rely on this supply. The main functions of the Senior SCADA Systems Administrator position are to lead the administration of the hardware and software systems used for monitoring and operating the CAP aqueduct system at an advanced level, and in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring uninterrupted deliveries to water users. As a SCADA Systems Administrator, you will play a key role in configuring and maintaining systems that support remote operations and real-time monitoring used to manage critical water deliveries for CAPs 336-mile canal system in the state of Arizona. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus seven (7) years' experience in a related discipline with demonstrated working knowledge and experience in multiple categories of the essential duties; OR, associate's degree plus ten (10) years' or experience; OR, high school or equivalent plus eleven (11) years' of experience; OR high school or equivalent with a registered electrical apprenticeship plus nine (9) years' of experience.
  • ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Certificate OR Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) OR ISA Certified Automation Professional.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years' of experience in a SCADA systems or process control environment.

Responsibilities

  • System Administration - Hardware: Responsible for equipment across multiple domains, including servers in a virtual environment, the local area network (LAN), workstations, laptops, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and audio/visual (A/V) systems. Tasks include managing system backups, applying security patches, updates, and hot fixes. Achieve high availability, reliability, and performance. Devise solutions as needed.
  • System Administration - Software, Configuration, and Programming: Configure software, databases, displays, and tools, including Windows and group policies. Develop, modify, and test programming code for various PLCs, databases, and Aqueduct Control Software (ACS). Maintain standards and procedures to ensure consistency in implementation across assets.
  • Cybersecurity: Follow best practices for patching, anti-virus, network monitoring, system configuration, and change management by implementing appropriate tools. Complete periodic audits to verify compliance with applicable policy and standards, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Asset Management: Maintain inventory of all assets. Provide technical support for capital projects and asset modifications during construction and commissioning to verify proper operation and remote system access. Maintain documentation as required, including testing procedures and results, system architecture and configuration, and administration procedures. Lead lifecycle management strategies to enhance the reliability of industrial control systems assets during the design, operation, and maintenance phases. Support reliability and maintainability of systems by providing data, training and tools to operations, engineering, maintenance and administration staff, ensuring efficient system upkeep and rapid response to issues.
  • Support: Collaborate with cross functional teams to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues impeding real-time CAP canal system operations. Respond to after hour 24/7 support call outs to resolve urgent industrial control system software or hardware issues.
