As a Senior Sales Support Consultant, you'll own the Strategic Accounts alliance negotiation process, driving tools, communication, and continuous improvement. You'll provide consultative support on agreement terms, conditions, and financial modeling, partnering closely with Account Managers to ensure seamless execution across divisions. Requirements

  • Value Selling: Strong sales skills to deliver customer value and prioritize high-impact deals. Strong commercial experience as a representative, combined with operational-facing expertise. The ideal candidate is highly self-directed, demonstrating initiative to drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in mining operations or heavy equipment, with a strong understanding of industry practices. Proven background working with heavy equipment dealer networks.
  • Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions. Work with a sense of urgency to meet customer expectations while ensuring Caterpillar business interests are also met.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Ability to prioritize between mission critical work and other day to day assignments.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Business Development: Experience in identifying and developing new business opportunities within mining and heavy equipment sectors.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or Engineering.
  • Knowledge of pricing methodology and sales support.
  • Experience working with contracts, agreements and legal personnel.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Power BI and MS Excel; including Pivot tables, Vlookups, If Statements, and Graphing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and refine the Strategic Accounts alliance agreement process using global best practices
  • Ensure compliance across multiple alliance agreements
  • Collaborate globally as a Deal Team member on high-stakes negotiations
  • Partner cross-functionally with Demand Management, Pricing, Aftermarket Solutions, Legal, and more to develop terms, assess risk, and finalize agreements
  • Support legal drafting and revisions for alliance agreements
  • Drive execution, ensuring signed agreements are implemented effectively
  • Enhance financial tools to evaluate commercial packages and maintain equity compliance
  • Lead strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Administer CI tools, supporting our Strategic Accounts Continuous Improvement team
