About The Position

The beautiful Hilton Des Moines Downtown is growing its sales team! We're seeking a Senior Sales Manager to take the lead on the Large Association and SMERF market segments. This is an exciting opportunity to represent the only Hilton Corporate Managed hotel in the market while driving business and making a lasting impact. A Senior Sales Manager is responsible for securing groups and conventions by building and establishing relationships with customers. Hilton is looking for dynamic individuals who are well rounded and business minded. The sales office in a hotel is a fast paced, everchanging environment and is a true launching pad for those who aspire to grow their careers in hospitality. Research, solicit and generate new leads for group opportunities through database research and proactive sales efforts, maximizing new room revenue streams, to meet and exceed lead generation goals. Represent the hotel in the development of market segment(s) and new customer relationships while maintaining existing relations with assigned accounts. Consistently strives to maximize revenue and profitability for all hotel revenue streams. Develop a business strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel and market trends, implementing marketing initiatives to capture the maximum amount of lead revenue to meet and exceed sales goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Hospitality sales and/or group travel industry sales.
  • Knowledge of Delphi.fdc and Hotel Sales industry experience.
  • Knowledge of SMERF, Association, or Citywide experience.

Responsibilities

  • Securing groups and conventions by building and establishing relationships with customers.
  • Researching, soliciting, and generating new leads for group opportunities through database research and proactive sales efforts.
  • Maximizing new room revenue streams to meet and exceed lead generation goals.
  • Representing the hotel in the development of market segment(s) and new customer relationships while maintaining existing relations with assigned accounts.
  • Maximizing revenue and profitability for all hotel revenue streams.
  • Developing a business strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel and market trends.
  • Implementing marketing initiatives to capture maximum lead revenue to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Applying strong sales skills to create customer value and differentiate Hilton from the competition.
  • Demonstrating mastery of the prospecting process and identifying potential customers.
  • Preparing and implementing call strategies for prospecting.
  • Negotiating contracts and commission agreements with end user customers and intermediaries.
  • Engaging with Hilton Worldwide Sales, Convention Bureau, and Intermediaries to retain existing customers and secure new business.
  • Developing and executing plans for outside sales calls, industry tradeshows, and customer events.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date pipeline of business opportunities that meet short and long-term business objectives.
  • Conducting site inspections and coordinating customer specifications via identified lead management system.
