About The Position

Avalara is looking for a Sales Executive focused on Information Reporting and Payee Compliance, you'll ignite growth in one of the most dynamic areas of compliance—1099 and W-9 automation. Reporting to the Director of Sales, you'll hunt for net-new business, build and own your pipeline, and collaborate in a powerful overlay model with sellers across Avalara to unlock opportunity in both new and existing accounts. You'll help businesses ditch manual, error-prone processes and take control of their payee data and reporting obligations with modern, automated solutions. Requirements

  • 5+ years of quota-carrying sales experience
  • Experience building a pipeline while executing in an overlay, team-selling environment.
  • Consultative discovery skills with experience selling to Director and C-level partners.
  • Experience navigating complex compliance or regulatory sales cycles (1099/W-9 or related solutions preferred).
  • Disciplined in forecasting, pipeline management, and implementing go-to-market strategies to increase predictable revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Qualify and close inbound leads while building and overseeing a pipeline through direct outreach, partner channels, and referral relationships.
  • Lead effective discovery conversations to understand customers' payee compliance challenges and clearly articulate why Avalara's 1099 and W-9 solutions are the best fit for their business—easy, secure, scalable, and effective in reducing risk.
  • Partner with Avalara sellers in an overlay model to lead Information Reporting and Payee Compliance revenue across new and existing accounts through coordinated go-to-market execution.
  • Develop targeted sales strategies by using Avalara's differentiators, maintaining knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes, and serving as a subject matter resource to prospects and other teams.
  • Build lasting customer relationships and collaborate with Business Development, Customer Success, and Sales as a team player to guide execution and predictable revenue growth.
