About The Position

The Sales Engineer for Major Accounts at Calix is a dynamic self-starter responsible for the success of the company's largest accounts. This role involves pre-sales support, solution design, pricing, and turnover documentation to ensure successful integration. The Sales Engineer will engage in credible technical discussions while simplifying complex technical concepts for senior management. The position requires building relationships and influencing decisions with customers, providing hands-on demonstrations of Calix's product capabilities, and assisting with lab and field trials.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to synthesize complex issues into solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish strategic relationships with key customers.
  • Excellent presentation, written communication, and public speaking skills.
  • BSEE/BSCS degree is desired.
  • Strong technical familiarity with Layer 2 and Layer 3 Access network architectures.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies such as cloud-based solutions (SaaS) and software-defined networking (SDN).
  • Working knowledge of Fiber and Copper based L2 Access systems.
  • Knowledge of various routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS) and transport functions (L2/3 VPN).
  • Experience troubleshooting complex issues related to L2/L3 deployment architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Drive incremental revenue by establishing long-term trusted relationships with assigned major accounts.
  • Architect designs leveraging the breadth of Calix's network and Cloud solutions portfolio utilizing a consultative selling approach.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Calix, influencing solutions while staying current with external technologies and trends.
  • Partner closely with Sales to deliver technical sales-oriented presentations to customer's technical staff and senior management.
  • Assist in the preparation and response of RF”X”'s.
  • Assist customers in configuration and testing of our platforms in lab, field trials, and production networks.
