Stanton is looking for an experienced Senior RPG Developer to support the Company's continued growth by enhancing and developing business‑critical systems. This role focuses on building reliable, scalable solutions for accounting, financial reporting, and sales reporting. Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in programming on IBM System i.
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting, financial reporting, and sales reporting processes, with the ability to integrate these into software solutions.
  • Experience in warehousing, distribution, and manufacturing, preferably in the flooring industry or related environment.
  • Comprehensive expertise in RPG/IV, RPG-ILE, RPG/Free, CL, DDS, SQL, Embedded SQL, Query/400, DBU, SDA, and i-Series Data Transfer.
  • Thorough understanding of the full SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle – Analysis, Design, Development, Coding, Programming, Testing, Documentation, Implementation).
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking, with the ability to review project specifications, current programs, and financial processes to propose improvements.
  • Commitment to maintaining the integrity of systems, programs, and databases to ensure delivery of high-quality programming, particularly for accounting and reporting functions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with strict deadlines while ensuring accuracy in financial and sales data.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly interact with end users, developers, and management, both orally and in writing, regarding technical and financial matters.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to function as a collaborative team player

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in additional programming languages such as C++, Visual Basic, or Java is a plus.
  • A degree in computer science, programming, accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the programming team to design and develop programs that sustain the current and future growth of Stanton, with a focus on integrating general accounting, financial, and sales reporting functionalities.
  • Collaborate with project requestors and stakeholders to deliver robust solutions that adhere to defined business rules and requirements, ensuring alignment with accounting, financial, and sales reporting objectives.
  • Analyze existing processes and propose sustainable, scalable solutions to support growth, particularly in areas related to financial data management and reporting.
  • Work with the programming team to evaluate proposed project solutions, establish best practices for program development, and ensure accurate handling of accounting and sales data.
  • Partner with management on specific projects to formulate system solutions that enhance long-term sustainability and scalability, with an emphasis on financial and sales reporting systems.
