About The Position

Step into a typical day at Hydro, Inc.’s Denver service center. You begin by reviewing blueprints and assembly drawings for a large centrifugal pump rebuild. After carefully disassembling the unit, you take precise measurements with micrometers, calipers, and gauges, documenting critical fits and clearances. You’ll evaluate wear patterns across pump components, then move on to similar work on valves and other rotating equipment—perhaps a blower today, a steam turbine tomorrow. By day’s end, the equipment is reassembled to spec, ready to return to service. Hydro, Inc. is a global industrial pump reengineering leader headquartered in Chicago. Since 1969, we have been the world’s largest independent pump reengineering company, delivering engineering expertise, repair, and support services to industry.

  • Background as a millwright mechanic; or formal technical training from an accredited technical college/trade school; or completion of a comparable multi-year apprenticeship
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings
  • Proficiency using and understanding micrometers, calipers, gauges, and inspection tooling
  • Thorough understanding of the function and interaction of components that make up a pump
