About The Position

Stantec's New England Transportation group has an immediate need for a talented, team focused Senior Transportation Engineer with 8 years of experience in roadway/highway design. The location for this opportunity is flexible between our Auburn NH, Quincy MA, Boston MA, or Burlington MA offices and hybrid work. The ideal candidate should have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, be a fast learner, and enjoy working and sharing their experiences and knowledge in a team environment. We are looking for a civil engineer that is experienced and knowledgeable in roadway design throughout the design process. You will join a growing team of transportation professionals and play a lead role in highway design for large and small roadway and bridge projects throughout Massachusetts. The position has the potential to lead to project management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Massachusetts
• Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in engineering design
• Project management experience a plus
• Ability to lead or assist leading a team through all phases of project document production
• Ability to be a great collaborator, effective communicator, and time manager
• Ability to offer a Comprehensive approach to challenges and problem-solving
• Experience with Microsoft Project a plus

Responsibilities

• Design roadways in accordance with AASHTO and MassDOT specifications and CAD Standards using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Develop and oversee design plans and calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates
• Prepare engineering reports and technical studies such as design memos and Design Justification Workbooks
• Collaborate with team members, other disciplines and offices, and sub-consultants
• Perform field investigations and construction phase services support
• Interact with and present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public
• Thorough understanding of project tasks within the overall project schedule, budgeting, and available resources
• Mentor and coach junior engineers on transportation design and AutoCAD Civil 3D
