Senior Roadway Engineer
About The Position
Lochmueller Group is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our Roadway/Highway Design team. We are looking for a technical expert who is passionate about roadway/highway design engineering, enhancing the quality of projects, and mentoring junior level staff. Lochmueller Group is a regional engineering consulting firm with an emphasis on infrastructure. We provide multi-disciplined services for a variety of public agencies and private entities, including transportation design; water resources design; environmental analysis & permitting; construction engineering & inspection; traffic engineering & transportation planning; surveying; and land acquisition & appraisal. Our transportation design team offers a variety of services, but most of our work involves roadway and bridge design for various local public agencies and state DOTâs. Requirements
- Bachelorâs degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- 15+ years of experience performing as a project engineer or project manager on local agency and/or DOT roadway projects
- Possesses advanced, specialized knowledge in roadway/highway design
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and mentor junior level staff
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical lead in the planning and execution of complex engineering projects.
- Conduct advanced engineering analysis and design for specialized projects.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams and junior engineers.
- Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering processes and standards.
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers.
- Act as a subject matter expert in a specific engineering discipline.
- Perform QA/QC on project deliverables.
- Participate in firm-wide quality control initiatives.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules for contract development.
- Coordinate with other departments and sub-consultants to allocate project scope and develop budget and schedule proposals.
- Assist with business development efforts and prepare statements of qualifications and letters of interest.
- May perform other duties associated with this role.
