About The Position

STV has an immediate need in our North Carolina offices for a Roadway Engineer in our Transportation division. The successful candidate will: Provide project management and professional design services for transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies, local governments, and NCDOT. Manage design, provide senior-level functional designs, and provide QC for roadway geometry and details, drainage, work zone traffic control, pavement markings, and signing for transportation infrastructure. Interact with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams Design experience using MicroStation, Geopak, experience in Open Roads (ORD) is a plus Coordinate design development and assisting with technical direction to other design staff Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports Work with practice and office leadership, client development, business development and industry participation to advance your career and STV’s growth. Facilitate and lead project meetings both within STV and with clients. Create, maintain, and monitor scopes, fees, schedules, staffing projections, risk registers, sub agreements, QC records, deliverable submittals, and invoices. Requirements

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in all technical aspects of roadway design or bridge design
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required
  • NC PE license is required or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Experience in project management and design of intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, and bike/ped facilities.
  • Experience with NCDOT and other NC municipalities
  • Strong inter-personal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction

Nice To Haves

  • Design experience using MicroStation, Geopak, experience in Open Roads (ORD) is a plus
  • Experience with using Open Roads Designer is a plus
