The Senior Risk Analyst supports the Employee Benefits and Student Health divisions through underwriting support, financial analytics, experience reporting, and data-driven insights. You own analytics for experience-rated group benefit programs. You support financial coordination and reporting for student health programs. You translate complex data into client-ready insights. You partner closely with internal teams, carriers, and actuarial vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform underwriting and financial analytics for group medical, dental, vision, and related benefit programs
  • Evaluate risk for new and renewal business using claims data, financial modeling, and benchmarks
  • Support partially self-funded and self-insured accounts, including experience-rated arrangements
  • Assist with renewals and marketings by spreading and analyzing financials
  • Prepare experience reports, IBNR calculations, PCORI fee calculations, and financial summaries
  • Partner with account management and producers to support retention and growth
  • Attend client meetings to explain financial results and plan mechanics
  • Educate clients on funding structures, risk drivers, and market trends
  • Coordinate renewal underwriting and reporting with carriers, TPAs, and actuarial partners
  • Support preparation of renewal financials and experience summaries
  • Assist with student health prospects and client engagements based on complexity
  • Help develop standardized reporting and client deliverables
  • Support student program analytics without owning actuarial pricing decisions
  • Build working relationships with insurance carriers to support underwriting and renewals
  • Deliver accurate monthly client reporting to internal teams
  • Coordinate data, timelines, and reporting requests with actuarial partner Milliman
  • Translate actuarial outputs into clear client-ready summaries
  • Support reporting using MedInsight when applicable
  • Support development and documentation of financial reports and dashboards
  • Validate data accuracy for analytics and executive summaries
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase consistency and scale
  • Monitor industry and medical trend developments to inform analysis
  • Maintain working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and related regulations
  • Interpret regulatory considerations as they affect plan design and financial outcomes
