About The Position

Tech Mahindra Network Services has an opening for an RF PLANNING AND DESIGN Engineer at Plano, TX. The incumbent will be responsible for designing 4G and 5G networks using design tools such as Atoll. He will manage or perform all activities related to the planning and design of 4G and 5G networks, with an emphasis on new macros, new small cells, and new in-building systems.

Requirements

• BE degree or equivalent in Electronics, Computer Science Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Five plus years of experience as an RF Engineer.
• In-depth understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) network design, coverage, and capacity planning of mobile wireless networks.
• Ability to develop theoretical RF designs utilizing propagation prediction software.
• Solid knowledge of propagation tools such as Planet, Asset, Atoll, IBwave, etc.
• Project management and report writing abilities are beneficial.
• Extensive experience in field test strategies, planning, and execution for green field networks.
• Solid experience in link budget planning and propagation models.
• Ability to independently handle and resolve technical barriers during design and deployment of 4G and 5G networks.

• Experience in vRAN deployment.

Responsibilities

• Perform RF/Wireless engineering assignments involving design, development, architecture evaluation, and selection.
• Conduct RF network design and planning activities using Atoll or other industry-standard planning tools for outdoor networks.
• Implement 4G and 5G design, sponsor best practices, and escalate system issues to RAN, Core, and Data design teams.
• Perform link budget analysis, design criteria, coverage, and traffic/capacity analysis.
• Ensure data integrity of various morphology/topography databases and drive test data for model calibration.
• Analyze and recommend equipment and antenna co-location requirements for different technologies.
• Perform site build verification and acceptance.
• Undertake design initiatives to meet network performance improvement (KPIs) and optimization tasks.
• Conduct site configuration analysis.
• Provide exclusion/exception area recommendations and verification.
• Identify and resolve coverage, capacity, and RF design deficiencies.
• Experience in vRAN deployment is a plus.
