  • Plan and implement Revenue Cycle/Finance projects.
  • Maintain all appropriate project deliverables and responsibilities including project scheduling, risk management, change management, issue management, and status reporting.
  • Develop a Request for Proposal, manage responses, analyze results, present findings, and arrange for demonstrations as applicable.
  • Review vendor offerings and make recommendations for review of those most suitable for the department.
  • Oversee the tasks, timelines, and resources necessary to implement the products necessary for the management of the Revenue Cycle/Finance functions.
  • Ensure the project stays on time and within budget.
  • Maintain an issues resolution log and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Conduct workflow and process mapping analysis to identify potential functions for the type of Revenue Cycle/Finance support being sought.
  • Trace the flow of processes through our system network, including how the interface engine is sending messages.
  • Measure the time it takes to perform these processes and perform benefit analysis and benefit realization.
  • Collaborate with internal partners in Tiger Institute, Patient Experience, Revenue, and Clinical Departments.
  • Maximize revenue opportunities related to the revenue cycle through third-party partners, automation, and internal improvements with workflow efficiencies.
  • Create best practices in each of the revenue cycle areas by leveraging systems and technology.
  • Assess revenue cycle informatics touchpoints throughout the cycle to drive and improve clinically driven processes and outcomes.
  • Create a roadmap for an overall revenue cycle informatics strategy including new implementations, upgrades, and functionality.
  • Lead Revenue Cycle Governance committee between Revenue Cycle and Tiger Institute.
  • Lead internal change control boards specific to the revenue cycle of hospital and physician billing.
  • Represent MU Health Care Revenue Cycle as the clinical electronic medical record (EMR) is extended to other health systems.
  • Oversee third-party implementation projects impacting the revenue cycle.
  • May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
  • Five (5) years of revenue cycle experience.
  • Experience using Cerner Revenue Cycle, IDX Chargemaster, or PowerBI.
  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
