About The Position

Under the guidance of the Senior Finance Analyst, the Senior Revenue Analyst will lead projects and teams, conduct advanced analyses, create and improve managerial reports and dashboards, propose new programs and policies in line with best practices, manage projects of varying complexity, and act as a liaison among multiple groups to resolve significant issues with limited precedents. The analyst will investigate anomalies, recommend actions, oversee billing discrepancies, suggest compliance solutions, and support process enhancements to ensure charge integrity. This role involves working with Revenue Management to review annual Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) updates and develop and implement changes to systems, policies, and procedures to stay aligned with government regulations and reimbursement criteria. The analyst will collaborate with the Apex systems team to ensure adherence to coding and billing regulations and will participate in the planning and setup of new codes for clinical operations. Additionally, the analyst will monitor research billing reviews and follow up on work queues to address billing discrepancies arising from research and patient inquiries routed from research teams and various billing groups. The analyst will also gather and analyze budgetary and resource requirements during planning stages, collaborate with leadership to forecast and model future changes in clinical productivity, and support leadership by analyzing past performance to understand the impact of growth on clinical productivity. The analyst will communicate revenue capture processes and financial outcomes, represent departmental perspectives in policy development, and deliver comprehensive reports to leadership. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $104,500 - $161,900 (Annual Rate). Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Coding Certification – CPC, CIC, COC, or similar
  • In-depth knowledge of the practices, procedures, and concepts of the healthcare revenue cycle and its component operations, including billing, collections, charge capture, contractual adjustments, third-party reimbursements, and cash management
  • In-depth understanding of the issues, processes, reporting instruments, metrics, dashboard design, and other tools and techniques involved with measuring and analyzing the revenue cycl
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills, and ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule
  • Advanced skills in report development, dashboard design, and various software tools specific to healthcare revenue cycle management.
  • Skills in common database, spreadsheet and presentation software
  • Advanced communications skills, with the ability to interpret and convey complex clinical finance information in a clear, concise manner. Ability to prepare compelling and informative reports and presentations to all levels of staff and management
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of workflows and systems in revenue cycle program areas, to identify weaknesses and develop innovative solutions and process improvements
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively on highly-complex projects in a team environment with a wide variety of business and clinical areas
  • Strong ability to advise management, serving as a technical expert, providing proposals for improvement and guidance on regulatory changes and industry trends and developments in revenue cycle management
