The Opportunity Own and manage patient revenue reporting, including evaluation of patient account receivable and cash collections, related to cash to accrual financial accounting reports in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures. Deliver actionable financial insights to the Accounting team and Finance leadership with clear root-cause analysis and recommendations. Identify trends and quantify financial risk and opportunity related to cash flow, AR days, payer mix, utilization patterns, and reimbursement methodologies. Lead auditing of budget, rolling forecasts, and monthly variance analysis related to patient revenue while serving as the primary liaison with external auditor. Develop and present monthly financial reports to Finance leadership, including patient revenue performance, risk areas, and improvement initiatives. Use data analytics to assess cash collection trends, regulatory impact, account receivable aging, and their financial implications. Translate complex financial and RCM data into actionable insights for Finance and RCM leadership teams. Develop patient revenue KPIs and financial impact models to audit cashflow and accruals. Collaborating cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Technology to ensure data integrity and system alignment. Educate Finance and RCM leaders on the key financial trends impacting patient revenue. Act as a key liaison between RCM, Business Intelligence, and Finance team. Lead internal and external audits on patient account receivable with a focus on revenue integrity. Build scalable reporting system to improve revenue integrity and implement controls to mitigate financial risk. Provide leadership and technical directions to system applications related to patient revenue analysis and reporting. Driving continuous improvement through automation and process enhancement. Establish and monitor internal control of patient revenue reporting, including developing standardized policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Finance, or related field required.
  • 12+ years of related experience in Healthcare accounting or revenue cycle management reporting required.
  • 7+ years of patient revenue reporting experience required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, cash and accrual financial reporting.
  • Deep understanding of professional fee reimbursement and payer economics with working knowledge of revenue cycle management and patient account receivable reporting.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with a demonstrated ability to research and troubleshoot issues.
  • Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis with strong command of analytic tools, reporting applications, and financial analytics platforms.
  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills with proven ability to influence executives and leadership using data.
  • Ability to evaluate and convey information effectively in reports to Finance, RCM, and Executive leadership.
  • Ability to exhibit high standards of ethics, accountability, and responsibility

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or Finance Preferred.
  • Experience with professional reimbursement of a large multi-specialty group Preferred.
