About The Position

Harbinger Motors is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing Finance and Accounting team. This critical role will be responsible for the accurate recognition of revenue, ensuring full compliance with ASC 606 standards, and managing the entire Order-to-Cash (OTC) cycle related to revenue. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of improving revenue processes and controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with an emphasis in Accounting.
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and revenue accounting standards.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/MRP systems.

Nice To Haves

  • NetSuite experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the application of ASC 606, analyzing complex sales contracts, identifying performance obligations, and ensuring proper revenue recognition timing.
  • Prepare and maintain technical accounting memos for significant or non-standard revenue agreements and business model changes.
  • Ensure all revenue recognition processes, policies, and controls are documented, adhered to, and SOX-compliant.
  • Manage the timely and accurate generation and distribution of customer invoices, ensuring alignment between billing system data and contract terms.
  • Actively manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including monitoring aging reports, driving efficient collection processes, and liaising directly with clients on past-due balances to maintain strong cash flow.
  • Execute the month-end close procedures related to revenue, including preparing journal entries, reconciling revenue-related balance sheet accounts (e.g., Accounts Receivable, Deferred Revenue), and analyzing revenue fluctuations.
  • Partner with Sales Operations and Legal teams to review contract language, invoicing terms, and billing system configurations before new deals are finalized.
  • Prepare detailed revenue reports and metrics for management, including sales variance reports.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors during quarterly reviews and the annual audit related to revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable.
  • Assist with various special projects as required.
