About The Position

We're looking for a dedicated Senior Residential Counselor to join our residential team at Hope For Youth in a non-secure youth detention program. In this role, you'll support young people through challenging times, help create a safe and structured environment, and lead by example for both residents and staff on your shift. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid NYS driver's license in good standing
- Ability to: work flexible schedule
- Lift/move up to fifty (50) pounds
- Escort residents into the community and to appointments to service providers as needed
- Physically restrain a child or youth during a crisis situation (TCI Training is provided with focus on de-escalation techniques)
- Read/write reports and log entries, repetitive wrist/finger movements
- Operate a motor vehicle carrying up to 10 children and youth
- Support other projects as needed within the Residential Department
- Open to supervision and able to work as part of a team
